Victory in Plateau: Joint Forces Crush Bandits, Secure Arms Cache

Together with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) troops from Sector 2 of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) conducted a special operation in Plateau States Wase Local Government Area. They were successful in killing two bandits and recovering weapons during this operation.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama posted this information on X on Tuesday. During an attack in Odare Forest on July 6 some bandit leaders were distributing weapons taken from local vigilantes according to credible intelligence that served as the basis for the planned operation. The troops allegedly set up shop along the roads that connect Odare Forests and Dutsen Zaki in order to execute the ambush.

Around 1:30 p. m. me. Soldiers came across the bandits on July 14. Makama claims that two of the bandits were killed and that the others fled most likely wounded by gunshot wounds.

Additionally Makama stated that the soldiers discovered one AK-47 rifle six AK-47 magazines and 27 rounds of seven rounds during the search of the area. 62mm rounds and a Boxer autobike. He added that the military currently has the recovered items and that efforts are ongoing to find the remaining escaped bandits.
