
The naira’s value went down compared to the dollar in both the official and unofficial currency exchange places on Monday, starting the week with a negative trend.
Information from the Central Bank of Nigeria about the official exchange rates showed that the Naira’s value decreased to
N1,535.93 for one dollar on Monday, which is lower than the N1,533.56 it was worth last week on Friday.
This indicates the Naira’s value decreased a little, by N2.37 compared to the dollar, from the N1,533.56 value at the end of the work day last week.
In the same way, the Naira’s value also went down in the unofficial market by N5, reaching N1570 for each dollar on Monday, from N1,565 on Friday.
At the same time, information from the main bank showed that the country’s savings from other countries have grown even more to $40.29 billion by August 8, 2025.
Remember that the Naira’s value went up on Friday because there were more savings from other countries.
