The World Bank said yes to giving $300 million to help as many as 7.4 million Nigerians living in camps for people forced to leave their homes, as well as the areas in the northern part of Nigeria where they are staying.
This information was shared in a written announcement on Monday.
The World Bank said that the loan was given the go-ahead on August 7, 2025.
The money is meant to make people stronger and give them more chances to get important things they need in Northern Nigeria, both for those in camps and those living nearby.
The World Bank’s leader in Nigeria, Mathew Verghis, said that this plan will help the country deal with the problems that come with people being displaced for a long time.
He stated, “We are happy to back this plan, which can really help Nigeria solve the problems related to people being displaced for a long time in a way that lasts.”
