Kebbi: ADC Challenges APC Following Sharp Exchange

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has brushed off comments made by the state leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, who called the party “not important” and said it was “run by young people who lack experience”.

Kana-Zuru shared these thoughts on Saturday during the start of the sharing of fertilizer and farming supplies by the representative for Bagudo/Suru Federal Constituency, Bello Ka’oje, in Kaoje town, which is in the Bagudu Local Government Area.

However, in response in a statement released yesterday, the ADC state leader, Alhaji Bala Sufiyanu, said that the APC’s comments showed “they are very worried” because people are more and more unhappy with how the ruling party is doing in Kebbi and throughout Nigeria.

He stated that more people were poor when the APC party was in power, farmers were not safe and could not easily sell their goods, many young people could not find work, and important building projects had stopped.

“Instead of fixing these problems, the APC has decided to criticize the one party that is sharing a fresh idea for Kebbi and Nigeria that is honest, includes everyone, and is skilled,” Sufiyanu stated.

When told that the ADC party is “run by young people,” he protected the skills of young leaders, sharing that Nigeria’s past includes examples of able leaders who took office when they were young, like Gen. Yakubu Gowon at 31, Gen. Murtala Mohammed at 37, and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at 41.

“Good ideas, not age, make a leader. Our focus on youth shows the energy, new ideas, and bravery Kebbi needs, not the old politicians we have now,” he said.

Sufiyanu promised the people of Kebbi that the time of “politics with no responsibility” was almost over, strongly saying that the state’s future depends on its younger people. (NAN)
